Rebecca Jayne

Tap

After training at the Vanessa’s School of Dance from a young age, in 2011 Rebecca successfully joined Tap Attack and competed in the World Tap Dance Championships in Germany gaining a Bronze Medal.

Rebecca then began her professional performing career and has since performed with companies such as Fancy Entertainment, Talegate Theatre and toured the UK with ‘Stand By Me’ as a vocalist and dancer performing with The Drifters.

Rebecca created her own Vintage act in 2014 singing and tap dancing at various events. She formed her own band in 2022 called ‘Vintage on Tap’ where she Tap Dances as the percussionist. She also regularly improvises at Tap Jams, performing with musicians.

Alongside her performing career, Rebecca continues her Tap training with some of the greatest Tap Masters around the world including at Brighton Tap Festival, Taptastic Festival and at intensives with Sarah Reich, Roxane Butterfly and Heather Cornell.

In 2022, Rebecca was a Dance Captain for the Tappin’In Project in association with the Commonwealth Games. She is also a member of the Sole Rebel Training and Performance Company as both a teacher and performer.

Rebecca now teaches and runs her own classes, leads workshops and loves sharing her passion for Tap, its history and the connection it has to music.
